Another Movable Monster ( With Some Style!)

The Sophisticated Mrs. Frankenstein

Hi Friends and Fellow Crafters! Today I am posting another Movable Monster from the Cricut Craft Room. This is the more stylish Mrs. Frankenstein! Once again I broke out the DCWV Glitzy Glitter Paper to use on her evening wear and added some metallic bling from Imaginisce using my I-Rock. I had to be extra careful because I found that the Glitzy Paper burns easily. I had to re-cut the top because I burned some of the glitter off when the I-Rock accidentally hit the paper.

I didn't have the right color green cardstock I was picturing for her skin, so I used some green cardstock I had on hand, then blended Tim Holtz Distress Inks Weathered Wood and Mowed Lawn on it to achieve more of the hue I wanted.

I cut 2 layers of her hair, a black layer and a layer using some Spider Web paper. I think it was from Graphic 45. I also cut 2 layers of her face, one green and one silver. I trimmed the black hair layer so that I could place it behind her eyes.

I trimmed the silver lightning bolt and adhered that to her head.

The Spider Web paper to give her a chic hairstyle. LOL!

I used a red Atyou Spica Glitter Pen on her mouth.

Putting her together was interesting. I didn't realize the digital handbook had become available, so I was still flying by the seat of my pants. I had cut the lower part of her arms in the glitter paper, but then I saw the book yesterday and it showed that piece cut in green. So I re-cut the pieces in green as suggested. I really didn't like the rounded part of her hands showing, so I used the original glitter sleeves I cut and layered them on the green arms giving her hands a more "finished" look. Later, I altered the glitter paper to have a straight sleeve.

I added a belt to her waist with a scrap of paper on my table to break up the all black gown. I painted her nails a nice shade of red using Smooch, then added some red sparkle using an Atyou Spica Pen. A few pearls for a necklace and a couple of pearls on her fingers for rings gave her a little extra glamour. Thank you Nadia from With Glittering Eyes for giving me some courage to alter my cuts a little more. I have been experimenting with more my cuts because of her amazing paper art.

Like the cat before her, she is also gigantic. LOL!  She stands at a statuesque 14 inches. Now that I have a better feel for putting them together, I may downsize them a bit.  :-)

Stick Pin Swap! The Results Post...

Hi Friends and Fellow Crafters!
I love swaps! I haven't been doing many since our fabulous Yahoo Group disbanded, but recently I have been dipping my toes back into the swapping waters. There was a Stick Pin on the Circle boards hosted by the wonderful JJewel and it was a blast! Here is my contribution.

My name on the board is GoneScrappin', so my Cricut bug was going scrapping, or maybe card making.
Here's what 20 bug tags looks like!

Making the pins was much easier than I thought they would be. Of course mine aren't nearly as ornate as some that I received, but I have plenty of fabulous ideas for future pins and swaps! Here are the tags I received in the swap. They are all gorgeous little works of art! Boy, there are incredibly creative people on the Cricut Message Boards and I am very happy they are there! There were 3 groups, but I was only in Group 1. The next time I will make sure to join all the groups.

The next set of pins were a direct swap between group 1 and Group 2 because we each had 1 drop out.

A big thank you should also go out to HodMom for helping to mail our boxes. She was kind enough to put my tags in a smaller box to help save some of the shipping costs.

Jewel was an awesome hostess and kept the thread lively and fun. She also provided us with some great links for creating these stick pins. I really liked this video, so I am sharing it with you today. Maybe these will inspire you to try some pins out for yourself. Be forewarned, it is really fun and addicting!
